About Shadana Davis

I am dedicated to assisting you to heal, develop healthy coping skills, and ultimately grow in your ability to navigate life’s challenges. My style is warm and emphatic with a focus on fostering a collaborative therapeutic relationship where you feel engaged, empowered, and safe to explore issues and life experiences that may be contributing to difficulties. I use an integrative theoretical approach which allows me to honor and tailor services to your unique concerns and needs.

Dr. Shadana Davis is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She also has the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) granted by PSYPACT. She is an experienced clinician with over 20 years of service in the mental health field.  Dr. Davis provides clinical psychology services to late adolescent and adult populations experiencing depression, anxiety, work/life balance issues, adjustment difficulties, relational challenges, trauma (emotional, physical and mental), ADHD related difficulties, and cultural diversity related concerns.  She has clinical expertise in psychological assessment of ADHD, cognitive ability, emotional, behavioral, and learning disorders.

Dr. Davis has a specialty in serving athletes addressing various issues including coping with unique stressors, depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, relational issues, trauma, adjustment difficulties, as well as cultural diversity related issues.  Her longstanding passion for service to underserved populations has influenced her special interest in athlete mental health as athletes, at any level, are not exempt from mental health challenges, but have been less likely to seek help. For her doctoral dissertation she conducted a qualitative study titled, Upward Mobility through Sports: An Examination of the Experience of African American Male Athletes which illuminated benefits, unique stressors, coping styles, and direction for clinicians. Additionally, she provides consultation and clinical services to schools, professional sport organizations, and athletic personnel.  She is listed as a provider on the NFL-Player's Association and USOPC Mental Health Provider Registries.

Dr. Davis’ style is warm and she strives to foster an atmosphere of empathy, authenticity, respect, and trust.  She values development of a therapeutic relationship where clients feel engaged, empowered, and safe to explore issues and life experiences that may be contributing to difficulties.  Her value of individual differences and cultural diversity has influenced her use of an integrative theoretical approach which allows her to honor and tailor services to the unique concerns and needs of each person.

In addition to licensure in psychology, Dr. Davis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania.  She received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Psychological Assessment from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Davis also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from East Carolina University, a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Chestnut Hill College.  Dr. Davis has also taught Psychological Assessment as an adjunct faculty member at Chestnut Hill College in the Clinical and Counseling Psychology Graduate Program.
